i'm diagnosed with pre-schooling blues and will start cursing and blabbering nonsense beyond this point=(

My dear alibaba,
Tell me how am i going to survive the torments of sitting through lectures and tutorials from 9 to 5 or 6 every mon,tue,thur and fri?My only consolation being that there's no sch on wed BUT ego jolted me back to reality and a quick reality check tells me that right smack in the middle of the week on every cheery wed morning i still hav to go for clinicals. Not forgetting the endless stream of projects and assignments to rush and tests to study for, I forsee myself turning in at god forsaken hours and catching up with some sleep on bus rides and lectures.

my life's going to be uber eventful...
Sometimes i wonder why study so hard when what we're going to earn in future are peanuts?
I choose to think that's the price we have to pay for passion and a job security.

19th Birthday this year was memorable and touching=)
Cycling cum bdae celeb at ecp with poly frens. It was really sweet and thoughtful of them. All the running around and rushing off from work to go all the way to the east.i'm kinda getting the hang of cycling and hopefully i can ride a bike soon, well that's if i will stop steering like a drunken and falling off from the bike.
celeb with ser and abi at outback steakhouse, the restuarant that further proves the point that S'pore have got really bad customer services and have just topped the chart for top 5 spots for horrendous customer service in spore, but the food was good. Headed to kbox thereafter since there weren't much interesting stuffs to do. sang our hearts out and ser emo-ed.

okay...so i've been on hiatus for the past months.
Basically i was busy preparing for my exams and theresfter kept busy recce-ing and bringing a few jap exchange students around the small sunny island-except the weather wasn't really that sunny after all , thanks to the combination of the rainy season and the el nino effect. Well it was scorching hot and humid for one moment and the next, dark clouds starts to gather and rain starts pouring on our heads...(whee..neurotic is e word). There were some confusion with the host and also communication barriers with the jap students . It's like half the time we were staring at their confused and amused looks while awaiting an answer from them..lol..an amusing scene to watch and a quite painful situation to be in. Communication is really important. It's pointless if you know your facts but is unable to bring across them to others. But was glad it all ended well. Many lessons learnt and experiences gained and jap can't take hot spicy food? hee..when to us their wasabi is ultraaaa hottt ? lol..

for now i'm officially glued to my com screen but i'm lazy to blog (besides there aren't any interesting happenings) , grey's anatomy is a major distration you see..it's really awesome!!if not i'll be practising guitar and contributing to noise pollution or reading..that's how i past my days..so i guess spending my holidays slacking away isn't an unachievable goal after all.The greatest challenge is getting my ass off and doing something constructive...

felt so good to reunite wif the 05stanners again

the things that made us uniquely s-tanners

and dim sum dollies was rrly good
entertaining, insightful and interesting
impressed wif the way they linked up spore's history with the current pollicies and packaged it into a light hearted comedy...

started my driving lessons too..finally
it's kinda scary but fun and addictive

been on lots of long bus rides lately
that's when the emo feeling starts kicking in...
esp when i saw e sign 'to mandai zoo 5km' yesterday
and i started thinking abt e duties abi, lu n i used to do at e zoo
the long bus rides to zoo when we will just fall asleep listening to poddie
the free tram rides
the kfc and ben n jerry-ing that we all looked forward to
chunky monkey, new york choc fudge, cookies dough, choc fudge brownies...
(i'm craving for ice-cream)

i miss the zoo
i miss the cranky ass tanners
wonder if i can squeeze into that jc uniform of mines

everyone is taking a different route in life

Life's really crazy
i've never thought poly life would be more stressful compared to jc
all the late night discussions
the countless projects
never ending list of anatomical terms and muscles
the multi-tasking
i seldom get to see the daylight
it's gss but i can't find the time to shop
3 projects n tests coming up after hols
i no longer know how to mug n what to mug

but i guess wat was really meaningful was e volunteer work last weekend
haha
volunteered at vsa arts camp for youths wif autism, i.d n l.d wif my poly frens
a great experience indeed
i was kinda lucky to get a well-behaved ward
have always wanted to do some volunteer work but can't seems to get any lobang
witnessed a string of interesting events
first time i've interacted with youths with autism, i.d n l.d
they maybe disabled in some way but they are far more capable than us in many areas

at the end of the day...
when laughter fills the room and smiles lit up across their faces
the sense of satisfaction kicks in
the feeling that i've made someone else's day
and added meaning to a day of their life
the same way they have added meaning to mines=)
looking forward to the dec camp

oh god...
it's week 5 of sch alr
last week was e most memorable of all

finally got to see the cadavers!
it wasn't that bad just that the air in the lab(where e cadavers were placed)felt a little different from e outside...
but it's really cool
human flesh really looks like pork n e nerves look like linguine=x
the human body is sooo fascinating...
how e muscles connect to our bones..the nerve connects to our muscles..n why it's all connected in such manner...etc
i'm inspired but i doubt i can rmb all e muscles n e whole list of details(knocks head till unconcious)

and finally ottp presentation is over!!we did some skit cum presentation thingy n everyone enjoyed themselves
my grp mates were like so on=)and when everything was over everyone heaved a sigh of relieve
haha

and and and something tragic n superly drama happened last fri
the thought of it can make one laugh till fall off e chair..literally
so here it goes
after presentation, sum of my grp n classmates headed to e food court for lunch
and after eating, we just sat there n chit-chat
ah goong was demostrating sum kick boxing moves wif his hand
at the same time dis aunty carrying a tray with a bowl of fish soup(that she had just cleared away) was walking towards him...
then, piang...ping...pong
haleiluya...a flying bowl of soup came flying towards me and okayy u can figure everything out from there
my ass is wet...lol
i was like so stuned..think i didnt noe whether to laugh or cry..
i'm like so innocent n i wasn't even sitting nxt to ah goong...one of my grpmates was actually sitting in between me n him..can u imagine e bowl actually bypassed her and came flying towards my ass..argh..she's so lucky...
can figure out the rest of the scenario by urself..lazy to blog alr...
and dun remind me of e incident..so horrible n embarrassing
but dat ah goong felt super guilty..lol

sleepy..who in the right of mind would actually blog in the wee hours of the night?

school has been fun (discount the boring physiology lecture and all)
anatomy seems like a really cool subject ( but it's gonna kill all my brain cells)
psychology is quite interesting too (hmmm...so many different theories)
but there are like a thousand and one projects to be done
and sch always end ard 4 to 6 plus i don't really have alot of breaks=(
my classmates are a bunch of muggers who stay back in sch to mug when it's just the 3rd week of sch...
but they are quite nice=) and mugging with them was quite fun...the whole bunch of easterners (well, almost)
i'll get to see e cadaver next week...yeah
hope i can tahan the smell...

been going home late and meeting up with ppl the past wks
celebrated jiamin's bdae and had steamboat tgt
celebrated zhong's bdae with sg but too bad aman cldnt turn up
met up with xue n rose to get bdae pressie
went to take my basic driving theroy with xue....and i've gotten my pdl..
met up with twin from time to time (swear i've seen her the most no.of times)

caught up wif my dearest jc mates last week at vivo n we watched meet the robinsons
give it four outta five popcorns

running out of work to do

and got mesmerised by American/British accent at the same time

felt so loved

working life sux
everyday is like a routine
brief summary:
wake up at 6plus.wash up n change.take bus.take mrt to city hall.take shuttle service to work place.tap card to enter building.go to e ladies to drag time.tap card to enter office.sit n slack at a small puny room of a large office until 9am.switch on com n enter password.wait for boss to issue me work(which is sooo not inviting)

stressful
every single nitty gritty details matters
cannot afford to make any mistakes cos we're dealing wif money, clients n lawyers need the sugar rush to keep me alert at all times n stop me from seeing stars
pile after pile of never-ending bills
might have to come back on sat n might have to work OT
underpaid
child abuse
cannot go msn or surf e net cos IT dept can track our every move n i'm sitting opp the boss
then again, i don't have time to do that

i have phobias of thick stack of papers, excel spreadsheets, stamps, scaning of bills, anything to do with bills, accounts or nos.
ANd having a workaholic and demanding boss who works for her life
now we know what attributed to spore falling birth rates (but then again, who say i'll ever get married n carry out the task of procreation)
swear i'm nv gonna place career as my topmost priority next time
sad life can? there's more to life then jus work, work n work...how about family, friends, leisure, love n faith? simply doing what you really like n always wanted to do?

well, at least i gained quite a bit of experience
i no longer see a bill as just a bill. i did'nt know that there're actually so many steps n procedures involved in churning out a neatly typed out bill.
oh, n i'll always remember my commas when i type out figures in thousands
n i'm nv ever going to do anything related to bills & accounts
n currently, i'm learning to understand the psychology n thinkings of a workaholic

yea...to speak the truth i'm a little put off by office jobs alr(when it's just day 2?)

luckily, some of my colleagues are nice n are quite approachable when i ask them for help
(okay...no..i only have 2 colleagues...there's another colleague but she's overseas)
lol..think they're quite sad too...cos most of the time their faces are glued to the pc..heard that they actually work there for 10 yrs ( can u believe it?)
got to meet some nice people from other depts today but didnt really chat cos they're quite busy too=( feel more comfortable chatting when i'm away from the sight of the boss...
conclusion: think i'm going to suffer from autism very soon

but today is a much better day than ytd

broke my personal record time
mum literally chased me with a parang and have been nagging ever since i got home..

luckily, zhong stayed in the east and we managed to hop onto the last bus
after the last train left us helplessly stranded behind
still can't believe we actually missed it by just a few secs?
made the smart choice by not waiting for the cab though
now we know never wait for cabs at douby ghaut area..
it takes eternity for 1 cab to ever appear at the taxi stand

their acting skills were superb n i couldn't differentiate if i was really playing a game or was everything a reality?
so we all ended up acting half the time too

but i can say, i enjoyed myself ytd
the game was exciting and i had to admit it was really fun
all the running ard n stuffs..guess i slimmed down?
even though i embarrased myself there
sux lar..ppl can't even make sense of what i'm talking about for my grp's presentation of the answers to the murder case..sad to say i don't even understand what i was blabbering all along
but it was nice of em to be patient and actually listened to me

realised i have not blog about the recent malacca/genting trip
it was really enjoyable
holidaying is fun but going out with a bunch of close friend is just triple the fun
it is impossible to be able to recall and 'pen' down all that happened in 3 days 2 nights
so i shall just sum every thing up in a few paragraphs

1st day at malacca was the best
it was shopping and lotsa walking
superb food,accomodation at equatorial hotel..
abi,ser and i went suana,jacuzzi after that (while lu,gc n cap scandaled in the room)
super relaxing and rejuvenating...high life man!
then, we went to disturb the guys so that they can't sleep
thats when ser whipped out her cam n turned a paparazzi overnight=x

2nd day weren't exactly a lucky day
the driver didn't turn up on time
plus the van to genting was so stuffy and the seats were uncomfortable
but the sights of genting were breathtaking
i just love the weather,the fog=)
themepark was ok too even though i'm not exactly a great fan of themeparks
but the food were dissapointing
and 1st world hotel is too cramped up
but we managed to survive still...and had a wonderful time

3rd day...

oh ya...i still rmb gc and the bag of rubbish at the spore custom=X

i brought back home dis special sovenior

the trip was fun fun fun..definitely thumbs up..esp with such great companies(abi,capri,gc,lu,ser)..still rmb all the stupid stuffs and the lame joke we crack to keep ourselves awake through the night...and ser..sad to say you're well known now in tpjc,spore and some say malaysia?we all know why..

fri: went to festival of praise at spore indoor stadium wif jiamin, peijun n xue..it was a whole new experience..enjoyed myself n made sum new frens..met ser's frens,liyi n kim while queueing up..fun n nice pple=)..realised they were from the same church as zhige..tried to mug under the scorching sun but gave up so we ended up talking..hehe..
the performance was nice n e songs were superb n catchy..we found ourselves singing to the tune n clapping to the beat like we were so familiar with the songs even though it was the first time we were hearing them..hooked on to those christian songs now..damn..i miss those prayer sessions, hymns n mass i had in sac..n there's this cute guitairist in the band playing for don moen=Phehe..realised that christians way of worshipping are really different from those of catholics...

sat: went for zoo duty with twin n mistress luvena...been ages since we went back for duty...we ended up helping people to take group photos instead of telling them abt the fragil forest...n we met up wif quite alot of our fellow zoo ambassadors there..hehe..helped to feed the ring tailed lemurs too...

as much as dad loves those boring ancient days setting cheenah shows...
i loathe them.
i've got this very very low tolerance level towards those show
that explains why as soon as he starts playing them on e dvd player
i evacuate...it works like a reflex action i guess...

ever wondered why we've got such different tastes

then, we had our lunch, played pool and headed home..

went tanning at sentosa today..
wif amelia,ser n tammy
the wrong tram ride landed us up at e ulu tanjong beach
den we realised that there's no way we gonna get tan cos it was way too cloudy
so we migrated to siloso beach..the eastern part of the island
with nicer toilets, not forgetting more bangla n chi ko pehs too=X
got ourselves exposed to the very very harmful afternoon rays..bad.bad.bad.
torturous yet shiok...being baked n toasted under the hot sun for 2 hrs
guess it's worth it..humans do anything for the sake of beauty
didnt even realised that sum ppl were filming us until amelia n ser told us
hope it won't appear on tv or i'll die of heart attack
cos u wont wanna noe wat i wore to tanning..

n we met dis cute uncle(e tram driver) twice

going to take a long break from blogging...
cos i'm lazy to turn on dat stupid comp of mine which shuts down by itself half e time...still cant convince myself dat time passing superly fast..

life is like a rollercoaster ride..one minute ur at the starting point..all geared up n excited abt the journey you are abt to take on..the next minute, you are at the peak unsure of wat lies ahead..if it's a great plunge down followed by a nasty curve or sth else..then, soon u'll start regretting ur actions..but there's no way you can back away cos you are already in the midst of it all..den before u noe it, you're back to where u've started..
feeling satisfied..like you have accomplished something nv before in ur entire life..

life is like accepting a great challenge..by accepting it, sometimes you have to expect the unexpected..all the twists and turns,ups and downs..only after you embarked on the journey, you will learn to love and appreciate it...
you have no control over your fate but that does not means you have lost complete control of your life...

dat's my perception n theory of life..a cliche n typical one i may say..but perhaps the only way to push me to move on in life...

hehe.. went to xue's chalet at changi safra ctry club on fri and stayed over wif zhong to celeb her bdae..rosemary went too=)..surprisingly, they allowed me to stay over..mayb i behaved well? hehe..but now i'm now broke..engage in too much activities like k boxing ,bowling n pool in jus a day..hope'll get my allowance tmr..but it wa fun..had FD marathon n we slept like at 5plus in e morning n woke up at 8am..feeling very tired now..

oh ya.saw dis cute n rich guy at e chalet but he's too old n taken ..think he knows we keep looking at him whenever he walks past..n dat zhong ar..keep wearing n taking out her contact lens jus to have a better view of him.. xue's cousins n esp dat nephew of her is soooooooo cute ..hehe..he found xue's auntie's swimsuit n took out those paddings.. den he showed it to us and he kept giggling n playing with it..haha.so cheeky..so cute..wanna kidnap him=)

day 2:went escape wif e bdae gal,zhong,elyn,hui ning,cheshire n david(who made us wait so long)..i swear guys dis days ar..but didnt play much cos not really a big fan of those thrilling rides..haha..pathetic..i've got sad life..pity my partner zhong..after dat zhong n david left n we went back to e chalet for bbq n to cut cake..hehe..sat at e playground wif e s09 clans n xue's fren n tell ghost story..very nice ambience cos its was dark n cosy...n e kids there were a good source of entertainment..i'm a paedophile..beware..hehe..and didnt noe tpjc was so creepy..really enjoyed myself..had a good time freaking myself out n slacking out=)

as for e rest of the hols...hai..having chem tution n doing chem hw...thanks to my tutor=X

so this is how it goes...
went out 4 consecutive days for retail therapy this week...tue to fri

On Tue: went ikea n art friend to source for ideas for fundraising for SL project wif twin, amelia, ser..hehe..was fun..n the meatball at ikea restaurant tasted heavenly..n serene actually spent 13 bucks there( she nearly wanted to buy the wastepaper basket..lol..) hehe..i brought 1 impractical item though=Pshall not disclosed..
think SL project gonna be a meaningful one cos we're dealing with orphans or terminally-ill children...wanna be dat angel in their lives...

On Wed: went orchard then cityhall with ser n tammy...we were walking ard looking for shoes n FBT shorts halfway den we decided to pluck eyebrows at marina sq..hehe..but we didnt pluck in the end cos the shop was too busy..discovered that there were lotsa cosmetic shops there too..thanks to tammy now i'm less sk=)

On Thu: didnt go for chinese..played truth or dare instead..n arhhhhhhhhh...me n erica got married..27jan06..so sweet..we had a wedding ceremony during maths tutorial, exchanged ring n stuffs..then we wrote love letters to each other..so romantic n mushy=p shall post it on my blog next time ya...(abi,ser,luv.amelia will be jealous though)mr chow keep looking at me during maths tutorial these days wif his funny n innocent expression n keep asking me abt e turtle shop...scary..dunno when he'll call me..why did i become so high profile all of a sudden=P oh ya...den after sch me n xue went to meet rosemary at bugis..good old rosemary!!!she really slimmed down(so envious)..we went bugis village to shop for rosemary's new yr clothes=P now i'm starting to appreciate the shops there...but i most probably wont b able to fit in those free sized tops they sell...oh well..looking forward to the next SG meeting=P but everyone is busy wif their own work..so ya=(

jus spring cleaned my blog..now it's given a fresh new look..hehe..a new begining..a new entry..a new cindy..considering that she finally updated her blog..hmmm..

(the false to the truth)looking forward to a new year..waking up to a new begining..saying sayonara to year 2005.. a fun filled and enjoyable i must say although topped with a bitter feeling of lost and sprinkled with all the crazy happenings in the world..conflicts, natural disaster, ragging tensions etc...

jus got back from class chalet yesterday..was at aloha loyang..hehe..rox man!!! many ppl managed to turn up..
on the first day...we celebrated aina n tammy bdae...
had yummy yummy curry for dinner prepared by chef farah n gang..played true n dare..hehe ain bombared erica wif lotsa qns n dares n we modified the dares to our satisfation..lol.so exciting..all of us were laughing silently in the room..hehe..me n my dearest twin went swimming too although it was cold..so scandalous jus the two of us..went to the kids playroom n bowl till ard midnight den rushed back to chalet to wish tammy a very happy bdae in a lame manner...played mahjong n blackjack..everyone won except the stupid banker..cap..lol..so dumb..stayed up till ard 5 =)

hehe..on the second day..had to smuggle illegal ppl out from the chalet without mr lee noticing..den after a great breakfast we went downtown east...had our lunch n played pool wif abi n ser..so ex..8bucks per hr...n we were quite un-pro..hehe..went arcade for awhile n back to chalet..to help wif e bbq but didnt helped much..wanted to help set fire but no help was needed..so help re-skewer the chicken wings...disgusting...den went to help amelia n twin abi to make bread..n amelia even went plucking leaves for ganishes..not bad..look quite classy..dat night, ms chan,ms leo,ms lim,mr yong n his gf turned up for the bbq..hehe..interesting..the food was very nice too..even the chicken wings..after dat wanted to go night biking cant find shops to rent bike..so me,abi,amelia,erica,ps stayed at chalet, played bridge n drank vocka...so naughty=Xwe even mix the vocka..so cool..hmmm..the second combi was the nicest=Plalala..but my poor twin only like her orange vocka which tasted no diff from softdrinks..

the last day..we signed out at ard 9 plus in the morning...but me,erica,amelia,ser went mac to play bridge..hehe..n now i'm addicted to the game..intellectually challenged..den erica left n e 3 of us stayed there untill we decided to go wild wild wet..well..its quite fun cos it was my first visit.if only my dearest twin n the rest was there...hehe..the 3 of us spent most of our time at the lazy pool..experiencing different types of waves..till we've got seasick n decided to got back..

hehe..now i'm broke n replaced with a darker tan again...but the chalet was fun filled n i'm really pampered with all the good food, the companies of my frens..etc..etc

Before we can start breeding chickens, we need to have a basic understanding of how their reproduction cycle works.
Obviously, to breed chickens successfully, we need both male and female birds. The male has a pair of testes attached to his kidneys. These produce the sperm which pass down tubes called vas deferens to small sperm sacs near the cloaca. The sperm are held in these sacs until mating occurs.
The female has a far more complex role in reproduction. Her major reproductive organs are ovaries where the egg yolk is formed. The yolk consists of the female sex cell surrounded by fats and proteins encased in the viteline or yolk membrane. The yolk is released into the oviduct funnel or infundibulum. If the hen has been mated by a male and sperm are present, it is here that the egg is fertilised. The stringy threads or chalazae which hold the yolk centrally in the egg are also added here. The yolk remains in the funnel for about 15 minutes before passing into the section called the magnum. It takes about 3 hours to pass through the magnum and during this time, the egg white forms around the yolk.
The egg then passes into the isthmus where the inner and outer shell membranes form around the egg. This takes some 1 1/4 hours. From here it passes into the shell gland. The egg stays here for some 21 hours while the shell forms around the yolk, white and membranes. Finally the egg is ready to be laid and it is expelled through the oviduct with the larger end coming through first, tapered end last. The egg is wet when first laid but as it dries, it becomes harder and brittle. The complete process takes about 25 to 26 hours. Hens rarely lay after 4pm and any egg formed after that time is usually held until the following morning to be laid. Once the egg is laid, the entire process begins again.
As with all birds, a sexual liaison must occur between male and female for fertilisation to be achieved. Unlike pigeons, chickens are polygamous creatures, so one male will happily mate with lots of hens, the ideal ratio being about 5 females to 1 male. There is little tact or ceremony on the part of the male. He selects the female (usually the closest one to himself) droops one wing to the ground, circles her then grabs her by the back of the head and climbs on her back. Balancing himself by flapping his wings, he lowers his tail and places his vent in direct contact with that of the hen, where the passage of sperm from his cloaca to her oviduct takes place. The entire sex act takes less than 15 seconds and it appears the most satisfying thing for the female is fluffing the feathers and shaking the body immediately afterwards.
Once sperm has been transferred, they swim along the mucous lining of the oviduct until they reach the infundibulum where they fertilise the ovum as it passes through from the ovary. It takes some 7 to 10 days for the sperm to travel and that explains why it normally takes that long after initial mating for fertile eggs to occur. Conversely, a hen may still lay fertile eggs some 10 days after being mated for the last time.
Finally, none of this occurs until the correct lighting and weather conditions prevail. It is only when daylight hours reach a certain length and the temperature rises that birds will breed, (usually Spring). These conditions act upon the birds' pituitary gland and promotes sexual activity. It is this same reason why most hens stop laying completely through the winter months. This is all known as the biological breeding clock.

One of the most difficult tasks for the backyard chicken breeder is that of sexing young chicks.Modern commercial hatcheries use a variety of tricks that allow them to determine the sex of every chick from the moment it hatches. The most common way they do this, involves the cross breeding of birds of particular colours which result in male chicks having different colour down than female chicks. This is known as sex-linked crossing. I shall explain some of the more common sex-linked crosses in this article as well as give some pointers on sexing pure breed chicks.Basically there are five different methods of determining sex in day old colour-crossed chicks.Group 1This is the classic gold/silver cross. Mating a gold male such as Rhode Island Red, Buff Rock, Buff Leghorn, Buff Orpington, Red or Buff Sussex to hens which are silver, such as Light Sussex, Light Brahma or pure White Wyandotte, results in all the cockerel (male) chicks having whitish grey or pale brown down, whereas the pullets (females) have reddish-brown or buff down.Group 2Uses the hens mentioned above with black red type males like Old English or Modern Game, Welsummer, Brown Leghorn, Dark Cornish or Barnevelders giving very similar results, except the female chicks have brown stripes and markings. The male chicks have a lighter greyish colour with black and grey markings.Group 3Involves non-barred males such as Australorp, Black Leghorn, Rhode Island Red or Ancona mated with barred females such as Plymouth Rocks or Cuckoo Leghorns. The resulting chicks are all black or dark brown with varying degrees of white underneath, however whereas the females have dark brown or black heads, the males all carry a whitish spot on the back of their heads.Group 4This relies on leg colour to determine the sex of the chicks, but as leg colour is not always clearly defined in day old chicks, it is not as reliable as the above methods. Mating dark legged males such as Silkies, Minorcas or Campines to females with light shanks such as Sussex, Leghorns or Wyandottes gives male chicks with pale legs and female chicks with dark legs.Group 5Uses feathering as a guide. Mating an early-feathering male such as an Ancona or Leghorn to hens of a slow-feathering breed like Sussex or Rhode Island Reds will result in male chicks which have very short flight feathers which do not protrude past the downy wing coverts and females which show definite wing flights which show clearly past the wing coverts. This method requires inspection immediately after hatching, before the males feather growth "catches up" to that of some late hatching pullets.
Of course, all these methods are completely useless to the serious breeder of pure breeds of chickens. In these cases, it takes a little longer to determine the males from the pullets, particularly with heavy breeds. It is usually a simple matter to pick light breed males at about a month old. They sport much larger and brighter head furnishings and are usually far more precocious than their sisters. With heavy breeds it is sometimes easy to determine the pullets by their faster and more even rate of feathering. Males feather more slowly and in a more patchy manner (but this is not always the case with some strains).The best method therefore, is by observing the chicks' behaviour. Startle the chicks by sailing a hat or similar soft object over their heads and watch their reactions. The cockerels will instinctively stand erect with their heads upright and will emit a peculiar warning chirruping sound. The pullets will tend to crouch down low and remain silent.
The following table shows the most common differences in development between the sexes of heavy breed chicks at 5 week of age.

it had been quite sum time since I blogged...

sigh* life have been as it is right now..boring,uneventful,lifeless,dead.preoccupied with pw and spa, well my so called, post-exam activities..which is sooooo inviting...Anyway, jus finish spa today, one word to sum it all up-sucky...as usual my spa..(helpless me)..

My actions have been monitored lately..restriction plus curfews to abide to..they are starting to distrust me..doubting my words..how sad can it be..how evil..they haven't been exactly pleased with my result and my dad is over-concious about nothing but that pathetic result slip..I'm not exactly satisfied either..Perhaps,they're right.. I should start mugging now?
Looking at the bright side..maybe my life hasn't been that uneventfully lately..went k box with abi.ser..(ser n her favourite oldies,eg.abba,carpenters..)..baked cookies which are not quite suitable for human consumption..hee a lot more madness..a lot more fun..hope i'll be granted permission for class chalet?*fingers crossed*

praying very hard for everyone in my class,the twins too...hopefully, we will all promote and see each other in 05s10 next yr again...and be the coolest and most united class..(famous for our non-stop laughters n giggles)... i really can't imagine how will it be like if someone you know for the past 7 mths or more is no longer there in the class...hai..i should stop being a pessimist...clinging on hopes..cos i still believe there are hopes if we believe...

hee..promos finally over after days of intensive mugging..cant believe it..can cum online finally..hahaha..blowing dust off my blog (~~ ''')

went out wif abi n serene today...actually supposed to hav more ppl but lu decided to watch sum andy lau show n eloped wif dat stupid siameng gc..n erica haiz..n nobody was free
=( except the twins n their wife...haha..anyway had a real fun time..we went to orchard for lunch at cafe cartel..window shopped n watched corpse bride..such a nice n sweet movie..haha..i luv emerly n dat skeleton doggy..such a nice ending...anyway the die..die..die soundtrack was really appropriate and interesting..all of us are hooked on to it now..i swear i'll find the lyrics..the aftermath of promos ..
dan after that we went to kino..hehe..ser n i went there to shop for tarot cards cos we were despo..wanna ask if can promote..k we were a bit too free la n out of our mind...den twin abi still terrify us abt the horrors of tarot cards..took us abt 30mins before we decide to buy anot...stupid sotong=P..haha..anyway, we went to the library to played tarot cards till 8 plus den hav our dinner...hehe..really had a great time today looking forward to tmr...continuation of the madness...better enjoy cos my days are numbered=X

yo..wat a memorable day!!!!!!!!!!!today chershire.elyn.hui ning.melissa.pei jun. xueyun celebrated my belated birthday..haha..they cheated me to go chershire's house after mugging..i suspected sth cos hornestly cheshire wasnt really good at deceiving=X or maybe i was jus too smart to see thro the plight=P..haha..anyway, she've got a lot more to learn from me;)..

they actually baked a pretty brownie for me...decorated and written with white choc on it ...happy 17th birthday cindy!!! with a drawing of a tortoise at the bottom- the work of elyn...(haha..evil call me tortoise..but i still luv it)...the brownie tasted wonderful too!!( i'm so gonna learn baking after promos)..felt really touched n honoured..they could actually set aside their busy schedules n sch work to give me a pleasant surprise...

heard dat they had to rush, run here n there n after all the hard work they all looked like they jus fought a war n went to build the death railway..den another surprise was the 108 jigsaw puzzle which is a collage of the photos we took together...Wow!!!..its really beautiful n meaningful...cos each time i stare at the photo..it'll bring back fond memories of the times when we spent together...dis is probably the most special bdae pressie..

its finally the end of a long draggy day...haha..so many funny things happened today..unbelievable...tues is an interesting day?
haha..anyway today bio prac was damn fun..was like slacking there n the class was digging info frm erica abt ms leo's fiance..even details like hairstyle if its centre parting etc etc...n asking ms leo abt her love life..everyone was like having a discussion there..dan dat crazy erica start squirting water at minfeng n me..like damn mad la...my sleeve n sides were like wet..ppl dunno thot my armpit was raining water...
during break we sat at e canteen..spot feminine guys n amuse ourselves wif real life stories abt them..dan chinese lesson was the funniest..halfway thro the lesson me n erica went 'toilet' n in e end we toured e whole sch...she went ard saying hi to everybody...even the cleaners..haha..she's getting really popular huh? dan when we were going back to class..we saw e principal..said hi..n she was like y u ppl like to fold in ur uniform? so erica said e guys oso does dat wat..ok..ok..later we go n tuck in ok? dan e principal walked away..n u noe wat..SHE SMACKED ERICA'S ASS...serious..omg..damn funny can...her rxn was like damn cartoon..

finally i'm updating my blog...isn't it a miracle??so unlikely of me..the irony of having a blog but not updating it...so i shall begin..haha..

yesterday was quite a meaningful day..went to e zoo wif tammy n kelvin to do duty..my first duty..yet it started to rain before we even step into fragil forest...oh well..jus my luck..though after dat we still managed to see mummy ducky protecting e little ones..(e 5 little ducklings..so cute..arhhh..)frm the rain n pecking at stupid turtoises who get into their way again n again..figured out turtoises aren't dat smart after all...no wonder they hav such small head..haha..we even spotted dis iguana..n 2 stupid crabs mating...dan before we go off...we went to eat ben n jerry's..in case u're wondering i had chunky monkey..abi...

haha..dan went home..rest n went

parkway parade to hav dinner with mum n dad...since dad was there cant shop much..as usual he jus fail to understand the fascination of shopping centres besides the food court…dragged mummy to mph but she dragged me out of there after awhile..evil..

As for today...i jus sit at home n slack..keep singing n recording my voice in my comp n chatting wif xue...till e music jukebox programme auto shut down n n summore cant open..shall not elaborate more..u get wat i mean..haha..summore today got no tv show to watch...all the channels flooded wif the PM talk=(n summore lasted like for 3 hrs??

hai..think i had been thinking too much lately..really dunno wat i want in life...wat to do after jc dat sorta things besides getting into the medical faculty..which is impossible.. save me.. i need the motivation to move on...somehow...
